Ken Smith

After Apprentice training in the Royal Navy, Ken has over 25 years experience in the Hotel and associated leisure fields.  Prior to forming Hockley Building Services, Ken was the General Manager of Tudor Mechanical and Electrical Services, managing all aspects of the business including a staff of over 50 engineers and operatives.

 

Edward Treacy BSc MSc, CEng, MCIBSE

Ed was Apprentice trained with Sulzer (UK) Ltd and has benefited from extensive experience with the leisure, food and pharmaceutical industries.  This experience was predominantly covering the design and construction of a wide range of air conditioning and hygienic ventilation projects. 

Ed is a Chartered Engineer and a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers having completed a Masters Degree at Brunel University in 1998.

 

 

Key Personnel – Service & Maintenance

Craig Smith

After serving his Apprentice in the Royal Navy completing 9 years of Maintenance Engineering duties in all aspects of HVAC plant. Craig joined Hockley Building Services in 2000 and has progressed to Service Development Manager

John Bates

As Service Manager John is responsible for all service contracts and small works.  He has more than 40 years experience most of which is “hands on” practical experience

Mark Edwards

Mark Served his apprenticeship with Power Flame Combustion Services and has considerable experience of gas and oil installations working for companies such as Saacke, Eurotherm.  Mark joined Hockley Building Services in 2004 and is now responsible for the day to day supervision of the Service and Maintenance Engineers.

 

Key Personnel - Projects

Jamie Taylor

After completing his Apprenticeship, Jamie was awarded Midlands Building Engineer Services Training Apprentice of the year 2001. Jamie also has awards in BSE (H&V team) HVAC National Certificate 2002/03 BTEC National Certificate 2001 and City & Guilds Autocad.  He has handled a wide variety of projects ranging in value up to £2.0m.

Barry Leadham

Barry has over 30 years experience in the Hotel and Leisure industries having detailed knowledge of heating, hot and cold water systems.  Barry is responsible for our O & M’s, hygiene reports and undertaking hygiency audits.

John Curphey

With nearly 40 years of public health design and contracting experience, John provides a wealth of experience for all aspects of both above and below ground drainage design and problem solving.

Russell Haines

Russell has completed his BTEC and HNC and is a competent Engineer overseeing a wide variety of projects.

Steven Cosnett

Steven has completed his  BTEC and is gaining experience handling a number of smaller projects.

Tom Mallett

Tom is completing his BTEC and is gaining experience both on site and with the assistance of our project engineers.

Luke McManus

Luke is about to complete his first year of his apprenticeship training and is gaining experience providing valuable assistance to our project engineers.
